Iowa Unitarian Universalist Witness Advocacy Network Purpose

Our main purpose is to educate and facilitate connecting Unitarian Universalists across the state.

With congregations throughout the state, we enlist our volunteers to visit, call and email our state representatives, senators and governor.  With a few phone calls from every congregation, our voice will be heard
across the state.

Why we need IUUWAN:  After the Sandy Hook massacre, both Senator Grassley and Iowa Rep, Lisa Heddens (D, Ames) reported their calls running 90-95% in favor of Second Amendment rights.

Apathy—“the conservatives will ignore us and liberals will do as we want”—is dangerous.  Our liberal friends need to know we care and have their backs and conservatives need to hear our voices.

Unitarian Universalist Association Purposes

The Unitarian Universalist Association shall devote its resources to and exercise its corporate powers for religious, educational and humanitarian purposes.  The primary purpose of the Association is to serve the needs of its member congregations, organize new congregations, extend and strengthen Unitarian Universalist institutions and implement its principles.
