Help Minneapolis Get a Nobel Peace Prize
The editors of The Nation are formally nominating the city of Minneapolis and its people for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize.
In recent months, the Trump administration’s expanded immigration enforcement — marked by the deployment of thousands of armed federal agents to the Twin Cities and a wave of aggressive raids under “Operation Metro Surge” — has brought unprecedented state violence to Minnesota’s streets. Two civilians, including ICU nurse Alex Pretti and mother Renée Nicole Good, have been murdered by federal officers, sparking outrage and accelerating a movement of resistance across Minneapolis and beyond.
